NOC Job Code/Title: 44101 - Home support workers, caregivers and related occupations

Anticipated start date: As soon as possible

Duration: 1-year full time contract

Hours: 9am – 3pm Monday to Friday (* some evening/weekend work required)

Work Setting: private home

Requirements
Some secondary school
Completion of a training program in care of the elderly, care of persons with disabilities, convalescent care or a related field
First Aid/CPR certification
1+ year of prior experience working in home care or a related field
Ability to pass a background check and provide skilled references
English language ability

Duties
Providing care, companionship and emotional support
Preparing meals consistent with specific dietary requirements
Providing mobility assistance, including helping client to move around home safely




Assisting with daily living activities in which client requires support, such as shopping
Assisting with light housekeeping tasks such as laundry, vacuuming and dishwashing
Assist in pet care (rescue dog)

Personal suitability

Initiative; reliability; organization; flexibility. Must be comfortable with large dog.

Work conditions and physical capabilities

Repetitive tasks; Work under pressure; Physically demanding.
