Overview Product/Project Manager (Tech & Data Operations) Location: Toronto, ON (In-Office) Compensation: ~$150,000 CAD + Discretionary Bonus Company: High-Growth FinTech / Private Credit Firm The Opportunity Our client is looking for a decisive, process-driven Project Manager to take ownership of their technology product roadmap and transform their data operations. This role is built for a fixer—someone who thrives in the intensity of a startup but brings the structural discipline found in a large corporation. This isn 't a task-tracking role. Thisperson will build the "bottom-up" reporting infrastructure that powers executive decision-making. The immediate goal is to move the software and data teams from informal, ad-hoc workflows to a structured, compliant machine. Responsibilities Roadmap & Reporting Ownership Takes full ownership of the technical product roadmap, partnering with the Engineering Manager to define scopes, dependencies, and team capacity. Sets up and enforces bottom-up reporting, turning Jira data into transparent, real-time updates for the executive team regarding timelines and product status. Manages the team’s scheduling and approval cycles, proactively clearing blockers to keep development moving. Data Onboarding & Client Implementation Leads the technical data onboarding function. This involves taking internal requirements and turning them into standardized templates and workflows for clients. Acts as the bridge between the internal data engineering team and the client to ensure data is ingested correctly from day one. Handles weekly client interactions to keep data submission on schedule and ensure requirements are met accurately. Process & Governance Builds out SOC 2 compliant processes,
moving the company toward a standardized way of working through clear documentation. Acts as the internal Jira expert, optimizing workflows and reporting to make sure the tool is the single source of truth for the entire tech team. The Ideal Candidate The Hybrid Strategist: 5 to 7 years of experience. They U2019ve seen "what good lookslike" in a large corporate or Tier-1 Consulting firm (e.G., Deloitte, Accenture, Big 4) but prefer the speed and impact of a scaling business. Data Literate: They understand data operations. While they don 't need to be a coder, they must be able to look at a complex data requirement and explain it clearly to a client. Assertive: Quick on their feet and comfortable pushing both the engineering team and management to get the answers or approvals needed to stay on track. Builder Mentality: Someone who enjoys the challenge of "Zero to One" and building a reporting structure where none currently exists. Requirements Jira Expertise: High proficiency in managing workflows and reporting in Jira is essential. Background: 5–7 years as a Tech PM, Data PM, or in a technical implementation role within Consulting. Tools: Expert knowledge of Agile/Scrum and project visuals like Gantt charts and RAID logs. Education: A Computer Science degree is a plus, but a business background with strong technical/data operations experience is just as valuable. Why Apply? Impact: This person isn 't inheriting a finished process; they are the architect of the structures that will allow the company to scale. Visibility: Weekly meetings with executive leadership to provide the transparency that drives the company 's strategy. This position reflects a current vacancy with one of our clients.
