Overview At Siemens Energy, the electrical lead commissioning engineer plays a senior role in overseeing the commissioning and testing of complex electrical projects, ensuring work aligns with technical specifications and safety standards. This position involves guiding a technical team, managing project delivery, serving as the primary client contact, and performing hands-on tasks such as testing and fault diagnosis. The role includes close collaboration on engineering, design, and acceptance testing for large-scale systems such as power plants, substations, and energy storage facilities, as well as equipment such as transformers, breakers, and switchgears. What You’ll Do Leadership and project management: Lead a team in the installation and testing of equipment, manage technical project execution, and act as the primary point of contact for clients and third parties. Testing and Commissioning: Conduct and oversee comprehensive testing of high-voltage transformers, breakers, switchgears, protection schemes, relay systems, and other electrical components to ensure safe and efficient operation. Engineering and documentation: Perform basic and detailed engineering, ensure all technical project documentation is complete, and collaborate on technical concepts. Problem-solving and support: Provide technical support, identify and resolve electrical issues, and offer on-site and remote support to customers, including training on equipment use and maintenance. Compliance and quality assurance: Ensure all projects comply with regulatory requirements, project specifications, and internal standards. Manage punch list closure and coordinate with class approvals.



What You Bring At least 15 years of OEM experience in testing a variety of high-voltage substation equipment, including transformers, breakers, and switchgears; skilled in reportpreparation, team leadership, and serving as the main technical point of contact for customers. Currently holds or is actively pursuing PMP certification. Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Electronics Engineering. Strong critical analysis skills with high attention to detail. Flexible and highly motivated with a strong work ethic and professional demeanor. Strong written and verbal English communication skills. French is a plus. Ability to travel to sites as required. No visa sponsorship is being offered for this position. Holds valid work permit, permanent residence, or citizen status in Canada.
