This seasonal position spans 12 weeks and requires a solid commitment to garden maintenance and visitor engagement. Candidates should be actively pursuing or possess a degree in horticulture or environmental sciences, along with at least one year of gardening experience. You will monitor gardens, assist with pest management, and interact positively with the public.
Key Responsibilities:
• Maintain TRCA gardens through general gardening tasks
• Inspect gardens for pests and disease management
• Monitor garden health for signs of stress or disease
• Greet visitors and answer inquiries related to gardens
• Participate in daily safety meetings and training
Requirements:
• Pursuing or have a post-secondary degree in related fields
• One year of gardening or landscaping experience
• Knowledge of plant identification and horticultural practices
• Effective communication skills with the public
• Flexibility to work on weekends and holidays
