Summary

We are looking for someone to fill the position of Forklift Operator. It is rapid paced, requires attention to detail and someone who is safety conscious.

Hours

This is a full-time position working Monday - Friday 8:30am - 5:00pm

Job Duties
Safely operating a forklift
Handling lumber materials
Prepping materials for shop orders
Unloading incoming trucks of lumber
Loading outgoing trucks with wall panels and building materials
Working with the team to get materials lined up for prefabrication
Maintaining a clean worksite
Picking out lumber based on order specifications
Assisting in the shop with orders as needed
Comply with company policies, procedures, and safety requirements

Education, Experience and Knowledge

The following qualifications are required:
Must have valid forklift certification with 1+ years of operating experience
Valid driver's license and vehicle to get to work (There is no public transit to our location)
Experience working as an Order Picker
Physically capable of heavy labour work within a fabrication shop setting
High attention to detail
Knowledge about lumber would be very advantageous
Experience in framing would be an asset

Work Conditions
Use of Personal Protection Equipment (PPE)
Regularly works near moving mechanical parts and in outside conditions that include inclement weather, heat and humidity, and exposure to dust
Must be able to lift (up to 50 pounds), push, pull or carry heavy objects, use abdominal and lower back muscles to provide support over time without fatigue
May be exposed to intermittent loud noise
Requires valuable manual dexterity and multi-limb coordination
Excellent stamina is required
Hazards associated with the construction industry
