Job Details Position Title: Student Recruitment Associate Status: FT Support Staff (Appendix D) Hours: 37.5 hours per week Program/Department: G-H Registrar Campus/Location: The University of Guelph-Humber (207 Humber College Blvd, Toronto) is located within the traditional and treaty lands of the Mississaugas of the Credit. Salary: Payband G (Min) $34.60 - (Max) $39.93 Duration: February 2026-October 2026 Deadline to Apply: January 26, 2026 Job Posting: 1/21/26 Department: University of Guelph-Humber Responsibilities Under the general direction of the Associate Registrar, Admissions and International, the Student Recruitment Associate liaises with prospective students, applicants and their supporters throughout the recruitment and admission process to provide timely and accurate information. This role is a strategic component of the University of Guelph Humber’s overall enrolment strategy, and the incumbent has a significant impact in shaping the public image of the University and the prospective student’s post-secondary decision-making process. The Student Recruitment Associate provides exceptional customer service and positive interaction with prospective students, their supporters and the general public. As the first point of contact for the University, the incumbent provides information about the University of Guelph-Humber, academic programs, admission policies, the application process, financial and campus services, as well as important timelines via telephone, email, chat and in-person inquiries.
The incumbent greets guests to the Centre for Future Students, assists with inquiries and directs them appropriately for a campus tour or event, or refers on to another team member. The Student Recruitment Associate oversees the Centre front desk and reception area, including operating logistics and the general appearance of the space. The incumbent offers administrative support for office finances by inputting vendor invoices, creating requisitions and standing orders and tracking vendor payment, as well as coordinating mailings and shipments. The Student Recruitment Associate also assists with special projects, prospect data entry, liaison visit bookings, the daily administration of campus tours and the functional direction of work-study students involved in data entry, direct mailing, calling campaigns and campus tours. This position supports and participates in all recruitment events and special programming, which take place throughout the year, often requiring evening and weekend hours of work. What You Bring To The Role Education The successful candidate will have a 4-year degree in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, Advising/Counselling, or Customer Service. Experience And Skills Two years working in a front-line capacity in a busy student recruitment, admissions and/or other post-secondary workplace, and an understanding of the university system admission process is required. The Student Recruitment Associate must have the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and effectively in a high volume, fast-paced environment, often with several interruptions. He/she must be self-motivated, able to work independently and autonomously, but also collaboratively on a team. Excellent customer service, problem-solving, interpersonal (able to relate professionally and respectfully to a wide cross-section of people representing diverse backgrounds),
as well as superior verbal and written communication skills required in this role. The incumbent must be proficient in MS Office applications/word processing software, email and chat applications, and be familiar with a Customer Relations Management system. What’s In It for You?
