Job title: Software Tester
Location: Saanichton BC V8M 2A5
Duration: 6 months

We are seeking a highly skilled Cloud QA Engineer with strong test automation expertise to ensure the quality, reliability, and scalability of our cloud-based applications. The ideal candidate has hands‑on experience building robust automation frameworks and is comfortable working in modern cloud‑native environments.

Key Responsibilities

Design, develop, and maintain automated test frameworks using Playwright

Create and execute end-to-end (E2E), UI, API, and integration tests for cloud-based applications

Collaborate with developers, product managers, and DevOps teams to ensure high‑quality releases

Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines (e.g., GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, Jenkins)

Perform functional, regression, and performance testing in cloud environments

Identify defects, log detailed bugs, and work closely with engineering teams for resolution

Validate microservices, APIs, and distributed system behaviors in cloud platforms

Contribute to testing best practices, standards, and quality processes

Monitor test results and maintain test coverage and reliability metrics

Required Qualification
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).

3 6+ years of experience in QA/Test Automation

Strong Hands-on Experience With

Cypress for front-end/UI automation

Playwright for cross-browser automation

Proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript.

Experience testing cloud-based applications (AWS, Azure, or GCP).

Solid Understanding Of

REST APIs and API testing tools (e.g., Postman, Supertest)





Microservices architecture

Agile/Scrum methodologies

Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git).

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with containerized environments (Docker, Kubernetes)

Familiarity with performance testing tools (e.g., k6, JMeter)

Knowledge of security testing practices

Experience with test reporting tools (Allure, Mochawesome, etc.)Exposure to BDD frameworks (e.g., Cucumber)

Understanding of observability tools (logs, metrics, tracing)

Key Skills

Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills

Attention to detail and quality mindset

Effective communication and collaboration

Ability to work in a fast‑paced, agile environment

Nice To Have

Experience working with event‑driven architectures

Familiarity with CI/CD quality gates and shift‑left testing

Experience with cloud testing strategies (scalability, resiliency)

Individuals with power system, energy management, or good knowledge of electrical concepts and who are wanting to start a career in software testing should consider applying to this role. You should have some IT experience to combine with your electrical background.
