Facilitate growth and support for young people at YMCA BC as a Y Mind Group Facilitator. This casual role emphasizes co-leading sessions to help manage anxiety in ages 18–30.
As a Y Mind facilitator, you will engage young adults by using psychoeducational approaches that incorporate mindfulness and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). You will handle intakes, help organize community support, and foster a compassionate group setting for personal development.
Key Responsibilities:
• Facilitate engaging psychoeducation group sessions
• Manage intake processes for recent participants
• Create a supportive, protected group atmosphere
• Keep track of data for program improvement
• Adhere to YMCA policies for participant safety
Requirements:
• Relevant degree in mental health or counseling
• Experience in group facilitation for mental health
• Awareness of mindfulness practices
• Familiarity with ACT preferred
• Successful completion of reference checks and background screening
Contribute to the well-being of youth by guiding them through their challenges in the YMCA Y Mind program.
