The Role
As Principal Product Designer you will define the design culture for Rootly and set the standard for world‑class UX. You will lead by example, designing products that delight users with simplicity and effectiveness, and mentor the team.

What You’ll Do

Define and own the end‑to‑end user experience across all of Rootly’s products, ensuring frictionless and intuitive interactions.

Set the gold standard for UX/UI design and lead the creation of a consistent design language and component libraries.

Work with engineering, product, and leadership to influence the roadmap and advocate for user needs.

Mentor and raise the quality bar for the design team, enforcing design standards across the company.

Drive a culture of craftsmanship, ensuring everything shipped is polished, purposeful, and impactful.

Leverage data, customer insights, and product intuition to make informed design decisions.

Proactively identify and solve UX challenges before they become bottlenecks.

What We’re Looking For

8+ years of experience in UX/UI design with a robust track record at companies known for exceptional product design and usability.

Deep understanding of product design beyond UI, including how users think and behave.





Exceptional visual and interaction design skills that produce beautiful and functional interfaces.

Experience designing and enforcing a design system that ensures consistency at scale.

A natural leader who mentors and instills a culture of design excellence.

Strong product instincts, thinking beyond pixels to user problems, business impact, and engineering trade‑offs.

Ability to move fast without compromising quality.

Strong communication skills and ability to articulate design decisions clearly.

High sense of ownership and accountability, taking initiative to make it happen.

Experience working closely with engineers and understanding trade‑offs between vision and technical constraints.
