Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Adobe CDP Architect to lead a customer data and journey transformation program for a prominent Canadian Utility client. This strategic role is responsible for driving journey mapping workshops, translating core business outcomes into robust Adobe Real-Time CDP architecture, and guiding the end-to-end implementation of Adobe’s data and activation stack.
The architect serves as the essential bridge between business stakeholders and technical engineering teams, ensuring all customer journeys are insight-driven, fully privacy-compliant, and smoothly operationalized through Adobe CDP and downstream activation platforms.
Key Responsibilities
1. Journey Mapping & Business Discovery
Lead comprehensive journey mapping workshops with cross-functional utility stakeholders (Customer Care, Marketing, Digital, Operations, IT, Data, Privacy).
Identify and document priority customer journeys, including onboarding, outage communications, billing structures, self-service portals, and clean energy programs.
Translate distinct journey stages into structured data, identity resolution, and downstream activation requirements.
Define clear customer use cases, success metrics, and KPIs aligned with utility regulatory standards and customer experience goals.
2. Adobe CDP Architecture & Design
Own the overarching solution architecture for Adobe Real-Time CDP, including profile schema design, identity namespace strategies, data ingestion models (batch, streaming, API), and data governance/consent modeling.
Design highly scalable customer profiles that cleanly unify online,
offline, operational, and third-party data points.
Define segment and audience categorization strategies aligned directly with mapped customer journeys.
Maintain strict alignment with Adobe Experience Platform (AEP) architectural best practices.
Guide, mentor, and oversee the hands‑on configuration of Adobe CDP across active delivery teams.
Partner with Adobe Journey Optimizer, Adobe Analytics, and downstream activation platforms as applicable.
Provide architectural direction for multi-source data ingestion, covering CRMs, Customer Information Systems (CIS), Billing platforms, Outage Management Systems (OMS), AMI/smart meters, Web/Mobile, and Call Center logs.
Support data quality enrichment, real‑time activation use cases, formal testing, validation, and go‑live readiness.
4. Data Governance, Privacy & Compliance
Ensure a privacy‑by‑design implementation that complies with Canadian regulations (PIPEDA and provincial utility rules) and consent management standards.
Partner with Legal, Privacy, and Security teams to establish data access rules, retention policies, and automated consent enforcement in downstream activations.
5. Stakeholder & Program Leadership
Act as a trusted technical advisor to senior client stakeholders, collaborating seamlessly with Program Managers, Business Analysts, and Engineering teams.
Contribute heavily to roadmap development, MVP sequencing, value realization planning, and long‑term operating model design.
Required Qualifications
Core Skills & Experience
7–10+ years of proven success in Customer Data, Martech, or Digital Architecture roles.
3+ years of direct, hands‑on architectural experience with Adobe Real-Time CDP .
Extensive background running journey mapping workshops and customer experience design in enterprise environments.
Proven track record designing and deploying unified customer profiles at a large scale.
Deep understanding of identity resolution, XDM schema design, and enterprise data modeling.
Platform Expertise
Adobe Real-Time CDP and Adobe Experience Platform (AEP) core services.
Adobe Journey Optimizer (Highly Preferred).
Industry & Leadership Domain
Experience working within Utilities, Energy, Telco, or highly regulated environments is strongly preferred.
Familiarity with Customer Information Systems (CIS), billing platforms, call center data, and IoT/AMI data matrices is a major plus.
Robust facilitation skills for both executive leadership and engineering-level workshops.
Ability to work comfortably within multi‑vendor, matrixed delivery environments.
Nice-to-Have
Official Adobe certifications (AEP / CDP Architect or Developer).
Familiarity with Agile delivery frameworks and scaled enterprise release programs.
