This existing role reports to the Director of Financial Reporting and is responsible for managing and approving the monthly GST/HST and PST reconciliations and filings, leading and managing provincial and federal audits, providing finance support to the Rexall Care Network, managing pension accounting, and handling environmental compliance reporting.

Responsibilities

Review, approve and file the monthly GST/HST and PST remittances, and provide support with income tax provisions.

Review sample invoices each period and self‑assess PST to ensure PST tax compliance across provinces.

Liaise with IT, POS, and Merchandise systems teams to ensure accuracy of tax rates across all systems and provinces.

Manage provincial and federal audits for direct and indirect taxes, communicate with external auditors, and provide required documentation.

Manage environmental programs compliance, review prepared data and approve filing of monthly, quarterly and annual compliance reporting; engage with McKesson Canada to stay apprised of legislative changes.

Collaborate with the McKesson Canada Tax team and other Rexall Finance functions to prepare and provide income tax working papers and supporting documents for annual tax filings.





Provide finance support to the Rexall Care Network team for bookkeeping, preparation of monthly financial statements, donation payments, golf sponsorship reconciliation, year‑end filings, and support for the annual audit.

Manage pension accounting, support pension initiatives, year‑end audit and pension financial statements.

Manage loan interest schedule, review and approve loan interest journals and interest payments.

Oversee all aspects of parking tax, including reconciliation of monthly reports and leading audits associated with parking revenue and tax.

Review, approve and file monthly, quarterly and annual statutory Canada compliance reports.

Identify foreign workers for withholding tax and complete statutory reporting.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Business or Accounting.

Good working knowledge of GST/HST/PST tax rules across different provinces.

Understanding of environmental legislation across different provinces.

2‑3 years experience with enterprise software (e.g., JD Edwards).

Ability to meet month‑end deadlines.

Advanced knowledge of Excel.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
