Our client, a well-established multidisciplinary engineering consultancy, is looking to add an experienced Senior Mechanical Engineer to their growing team in Prince George, BC . Our client are willing to pay to relocate a suitable candidate. This is a full time permanent position with excellent growth potential.
This is a growth-oriented opportunity where you'll take the lead on mechanical building systems design for commercial, residential, institutional and heavy industrial facilities. The ideal candidate will have strong client-facing skills, a passion for solving technical problems, and a demonstrated ability to manage projects from concept through to completion.
Key Responsibilities Include the Following:
Lead mechanical engineering design for building systems including HVAC, plumbing, and related infrastructure
Conduct site visits and provide technical input during installation, commissioning, and maintenance phases
Develop mechanical specifications, equipment schedules, and design documentation
Interface with multidisciplinary teams including structural, electrical, and civil engineers
Prepare and review drawings, reports, and technical documentation for internal and client use
Participate in business development activities and proposal preparation
Mentor junior staff and contribute to knowledge sharing within the organization
Maintain strong relationships with clients, contractors, and regulatory bodies
Ideal Candidate Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering
Registered P.Eng.
in good standing with EGBC (or eligible for registration)
8+ years of experience in mechanical engineering, preferably involving commercial, multi-family, or industrial facilities
Strong understanding of HVAC and mechanical systems, building codes, and industry standards
Field experience working on active construction or industrial sites
Strong communication skills and the ability to work with clients and cross-functional teams
Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and solutions-focused
