Are you an analytical thinker with a passion for finance? We’re seeking a dedicated Intermediate Financial Analyst to become a key member of our dynamic team. In this hands-on role, you will contribute significantly to our monthly financial close process, ensure accurate account reconciliations, and provide insightful analysis focused on group & life insurance, investments in subsidiaries and associates, and segregated fund portfolios. This is a hybrid role requiring roughly 1-2 days per month in the office. Responsibilities Timely preparation and documentation of period-end working papers and journal entries to support our financial closing activities. Maintaining detailed reconciliations for assigned General Ledger (GL) accounts on a monthly and quarterly basis. Identifying and resolving discrepancies during the reconciliation process while collaborating with relevant business teams. Creating and updating standard operating procedures for essential accounting functions. Evaluating current work processes and suggesting improvements for greater efficiency. Researching accounting issues and drafting recommendations for enhancing our internal controls in Corporate Accounting. Assisting in the documentation and implementation of approved accounting outcomes following thorough research. Engaging in functional and user acceptance testing for ERP system projects, providing insights on how changes affect processes and financial outcomes. Supporting internal and external audit processes by compiling necessary documentation and addressing routine inquiries.



Contributing to process improvement initiatives within Corporate Accounting. Participating in various other projects as assigned. Qualifications CPA designation or nearing completion is required. A university degree with coursework in accounting, business, and mathematics. 2 to 4 years of relevant accounting experience, preferably in the financial services or insurance sectors. Familiarity with IFRS reporting standards. Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel (including pivot tables, LOOKUPS, and complex formulas) and proficiency in other Microsoft Office tools. Experience with ERP systems such as Microsoft AX/Dynamics, Workday, or Oracle/NetSuite. Strong verbal and written communication abilities to effectively engage with team members and stakeholders. Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills. Proven ability to manage multiple tasks and adapt to a quick-paced environment while meeting deadlines. Experience with Power BI is an asset. Compensation The total target compensation (TTC) range, including salary and target bonus, is $76,320 - $121,900.
