We are hiring a Litho Press Operator at our Scarborough location (21 Finchdene Sq, Scarborough, ON M1X 1A7).

Responsibilities:

- Review docket instructions to ensure jobs are produced as expected
- Complete printing Quality Checklists and related forms
- Review cold foil, ink colors and graphics on press against docket specifications to ensure graphics and colour match to provided reference standards
- Efficiently set up cold foil, print colors, coatings and varnishes in correct rotation to meet expected quality
- Monitor colour consistence throughout run, and take timely corrective action as required
- Check sheet from every load for registration, colour, printing defects and evenness of colours
- Complete defect tags when required. Insert into loads and document on Printing Quality checklist
- Maintain accurate sheet counts for valuable and scrap sheets, and enter data into ERP system
- Complete all information pertaining to each job on the back of the docket
- Troubleshoot press to reduce downtime & inefficiencies
- Training of pressroom staff for multi-skilling and succession planning
- Demonstrate a deliberate focus on Safety, Quality, Continuous Improvement, and Customer Satisfaction
- Maintain and adhere to all safety standards (including PPE requirements)




- Perform weekly scheduled maintenance and record accordingly
- Complete Work Order Forms when maintenance work is required on the printing press
- Perform other duties as required

Qualifications:

- Minimum 5 years’ experience as a Litho First Press Operator, preferably on a Roland press
- Mechanical aptitude and technical knowledge of printing process and machines
- Knowledge and understanding of manufacturing practices, including GMPs, ISO, PACSecure/HACCP standards
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Detailed eye for colour
- Skilled in multitasking and prioritizing in fast-paced environments
- Capable of working independently and collaboratively within a team
- Be able to lift objects weighing 30-50 pounds safely and effectively, with the capability to lift more with assistance, if required.
- Stand for extended periods
- Maintain good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity
- Sustain physical endurance for a fast-paced work environment
- Operate and work near machinery safely
