Groupe Sani-Tech

Canada

Reporting directly to regional/executive leadership, the Branch Manager will serve as the entrepreneurial builder driving Groupe Sani-Tech’s aggressive market expansion across the Ottawa/Gatineau region. Currently operating as an agile, highly focused branch, this role demands a "player-coach" who can manage complex projects hands-on while building local market share from the ground up.

As the local ambassador for Groupe Sani-Tech’s 50+ years of industry excellence, you will lead the commercial positioning of our specialized Division 10 architectural products (custom phenolic washroom partitions, commercial lockers, wall protection, washroom accessories, expansion joint covers and more) and installation services. Capitalizing on the booming commercial, institutional, and government construction sectors across both sides of the Ottawa River, you will establish high-level partnerships with general contractors and architects, scale local branch capacity, and drive sustainable profitability.

Key Responsibilities

Commercial Strategy & Business Development

- Drive Local Market Growth: Identify "white-space" opportunities in the local market to expand the client base and aggressively grow market share toward the $1.5M+ target.
- Executive Relationship Building: Build and maintain strategic partnerships with general contractors, suppliers, subcontractors, and key industry players.
- Deal Closing & Negotiation: Act as the executive sponsor on key client accounts, directly leading high-stakes contract negotiations and closing strategic bids.
- Sales Leadership: Collaborate with upper management on regional growth strategies and actively lead the small team in hitting quarterly sales targets.

2. Financial Management & Governance

- P&L; Ownership: Fully own the branch's Profit and Loss (P&L;) statement, ensuring healthy project margins and strictly controlling overhead costs.

- Forecasting & Reporting: Prepare quarterly and annual budgeting, accurate revenue forecasts, and track core KPIs to report back to executive management.
- Bid Prioritization: Evaluate and prioritize incoming bids according to branch capacity, profitability, and strategic focus.
- Risk & Contract Management: Review and negotiate complex legal contracts, actively mitigating project liability and scope-creep risks.

3.Operations & Project Execution

- Hands-On Senior Project Management: Act as the lead project manager on major, complex, or high-profile projects during this critical scaling phase.
- Process Optimization: Evaluate, refine, and improve operational tools and workflows to ensure smooth, repeatable project delivery as the branch expands.
- Safety & Compliance: Champion occupational health and safety standards on site and in the office, ensuring 100% regulatory compliance.

4. Team Leadership & Scaling (People Development)

- Recruitment & Capacity Planning: Proactively forecast workforce capacity needs, manage the recruitment pipeline, and hire top talent to grow the branch beyond its current footprint.
- Coaching & Mentorship: Act as a dedicated coach, mentoring current and future employees to elevate their skills according to company standards.
- Training & Onboarding: Develop comprehensive technical and product knowledge training programs to ensure new hires onboard rapidly and effectively.

Candidate Profile & Skills

Core Experience & Education (Must-Haves)

- Experience:

5+ years of experience in a team lead, project management, or operations leadership role within the construction or engineering industry.
- Scaling Track Record: Proven experience mentoring staff, managing hiring needs, and contributing to the growth of a department or branch's revenue and headcount.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
- Languages: Fully bilingual (Native/Fluent French, Fluent English) with solid written contract comprehension in both languages.

Behavioral & Executive Competencies

- Entrepreneurial Drive: Thrives in a startup-style, high-growth environment within an established corporate network; comfortable transitioning between strategic planning and hands-on site problem-solving.
- Executive Presence & Conflict Resolution: Ability to step in with authority and diplomacy when a major project faces hurdles or a subcontractor disputes a claim.
- Change Management & Emotional Intelligence: Skill in deploying new tools and optimized processes while gaining enthusiastic team buy-in without disrupting daily operations.
- Strategic Prioritization: Highly adept at filtering operational noise from high-value tasks, keeping a lean team focused, efficient, and protected from burnout.

Differentiators (Nice-to-Have)

- Formal project management certification (PMP) or an MBA.
- Direct experience managing a local branch or profit center from early-stage startup to multi-million dollar revenue.

Onboarding & Training Details

Initial Immersion: The candidate must be willing and able to travel to Quebec for an intensive 1-to-3 month immersion training program at corporate headquarters to master company tools, culture, and operational processes before fully taking the reins of the branch.
