Job Description

Layer 6 is TD Bank Group’s AI center of excellence, developing and deploying industry‑leading machine learning systems that impact the lives of over 27 million customers. We focus on deep learning, generative AI, time series forecasting, and responsible AI, working with massive financial datasets and collaborating with world‑renowned academic faculty.

As a Machine Learning Engineer, You Will

- Join a world‑class team of AI developers with an extensive track record of shipping solutions at the cutting edge
- Build scalable machine learning frameworks across multiple delivery teams where success is measured by adoption, reliability, developer productivity, and long‑term maintainability
- Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code to ensure efficient deployment of scalable AI applications and generalize across multiple use cases
- Work with large‑scale, real‑world datasets ranging from banking transactions and conversation histories to large document collections
- Grow by continuously learning new skills and exploring advanced topics in AI with a team that thrives on knowledge‑sharing

Required Qualifications





- Master or bachelor's degree in computer science, statistics, mathematics, engineering or a related field
- Demonstrated experience leading the design and implementation of production‑grade ML or data platforms
- Solid background in machine learning and deep learning
- Strong coding proficiency in Python, Java, C, or C++
- Robust engineering judgment, including making pragmatic tradeoffs around abstraction, performance, operability, and long‑term maintainability of shared systems
- Value good software design and sweat over details in code and API design
- Take great personal pride in building robust and scalable software
- Are highly accountable and have a strong sense of ownership
- Strive to communicate clearly and with empathy

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience with LangGraph, PyTorch, TensorFlow, JAX, or a comparable library
- Experience building and scaling data‑intensive software
- Experience using GPUs for accelerated deep learning training
