Localization Program Manager - Localisation Technologies Specialist (Hybrid, Toronto) Toronto, Canada Location: Toronto (Hybrid 2 days per week in office) OpenTable, part of Booking Holdings, Inc., is an industry leader empowering restaurants to thrive. The Localisation Team is a multicultural group of Program Managers and linguists building a quality native experience for users globally. This role owns our next‑generation localisation technology stack and optimizes processes to balance quality, speed, cost, and partner happiness. Responsibilities Own the Language Tech programme (NMT/MT engines, evaluation and tuning) and related localisation automations. Define and improve routing rules (MT/MTPE vs human‑only) to balance quality, speed and cost. Partner with Engineering on localisation connectors and services (Git/Mercury/Phrase, CMS integrations). Monitor localisation tech performance (automation success, TAT, cost/word, edit distance, LQA) and drive data‑based improvements. Maintain and evolve localisation dashboards and tooling to provide real‑time visibility into status and SLAs. Analyse problems in current workflows and tools, provide recommendations and implement scalable solutions. Support the localisation team with configuration, troubleshooting and continuous improvement of localisation tools and integrations. Contribute to documentation and best practices for localisation technology and workflows. Qualifications Minimum 10 years of localisation project, programme, or technology management experience (client‑side preferred).



Strong experience with TMS/CAT tools (e.G. Phrase) and localisation workflows. Exposure to Machine Translation / NMT and post‑editing within localisation workflows. Positive understanding of internationalisation (i18n) and its impact on localisation tooling and automation. Excellent problem‑solving, analytical skills; comfortable working with metrics and dashboards. Excellent verbal and written communication in English. High sense of ownership, attention to detail, and a growth mindset. Preferred skills Experience designing or operating MT/MTPE routing rules or quality prediction / risk‑based workflows. Experience with LQA and working closely with quality or vendor managers. Experience collaborating with Engineering teams on connectors, APIs or automation (Git‑based flows).
