Contribute to quality laboratory services at the Diagnostic Scientific Centre in Calgary as a Medical Laboratory Assistant I. This regular part-time position involves specimen processing, data entry, and client service in a agile workplace.
In this role, you will support the Pre/Post Analytics department with a focus on safety and accuracy. Key responsibilities include accurately processing patient specimens, communicating with clients, and maintaining equipment. You will thrive in a physically demanding role that requires teamwork and effective communication.
Key Responsibilities:
• Process and sort patient specimens and requisitions
• Maintain and prepare laboratory equipment and specimens
• Accurately enter patient data into the LIS




• Respond to client inquiries efficiently and courteously
• Assist in training new staff and students
Requirements:
• Completed an accredited Medical Laboratory Assistant program
• Proficient in data entry with Epic (Beaker) preferred
• Experience in a medical laboratory over the last 2 years
• Ability to lift up to 40 lbs and maneuver carts
• Robust attention to detail and adaptability to change
