As a temporary Scientific Officer at BC SPCA, you will spearhead research initiatives and the evaluation of animal welfare standards. Your role involves managing industry relationships, developing advocacy materials, and supporting projects designed to drive systemic improvements. With a commitment to evidence-based practices, you will play a pivotal part in enhancing animal welfare in our communities.
Key Responsibilities:
• Lead planning and execution of research initiatives
• Monitor trends in animal welfare and provide insights
• Collaborate on AnimalKind standards and guidelines
• Coordinate with animal care centres on standards implementation
• Prepare program reports to achieve Society-wide goals
Requirements:
• Graduate-level education in relevant sciences
• Minimum eight years of relevant experience
• Solid project management and leadership skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
• Familiarity with animal industries and governance
