Embark on a musical journey as a Teaching Artist with YONA-Sistema in Edmonton, Alberta. Engage with up to 20 students, providing impactful music instruction five days a week from September 2026 to June 2027.
You will play a crucial role in the YONA-Sistema program, working part time to enrich the lives of youth through music. Your responsibilities include leading rehearsals, supporting academic work, and fostering teamwork among colleagues. Together, you will create a positive and inclusive workplace that prioritizes creativity and collaboration.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide daily music instruction to up to 20 students
• Lead rehearsals and concerts for student performances
• Assist with academic work and supervise snack breaks




• Collaborate with YONA team to support program goals
• Advocate for equity and inclusion in all activities
Requirements:
• Advanced training in cello required
• Post-secondary education in music preferred
• Experience teaching music to children
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and Google Suite
• Explicit criminal record check for vulnerable sector
