Position Overview Oxford Properties, a leading global real estate investor, developer and manager, seeks a highly motivated lawyer to join its Canadian Legal Services team in Toronto. The Associate Director, Legal Services will advise on construction and development projects, manage external counsel, collaborate with various business units, and support compliance and risk activities.
Responsibilities Provide legal support for all design and construction work (including RFPs, professional services agreements, architectural agreements, and CCDCs).
Draft, negotiate and review commercial agreements such as building service agreements, operational agreements, consultant agreements and other supporting agreements.
Advise internal business units on legal, regulatory and compliance matters, ongoing operational matters, contract reviews, development issues, legal disputes, litigation and strategy documents.
Mentor and train legal clerks, managers, construction and design teams.
Develop relationships with external law firms, professional advisors and internal legal professionals.
Understand and navigate Oxford’s organizational structure and approval processes.




Qualifications Qualified to practice law in Toronto with a minimum of 3 years’ experience in an in‑house and/or law firm environment focused on construction contracts.
Experience drafting and negotiating CCDCs, building service agreements, professional service agreements, and supporting RFPs.
Solid interpersonal and communication skills, sound judgment, ability to lead projects and interact with a wide range of professionals.
Intellectually curious, open‑minded, team‑oriented and willing to learn.
Strong work ethic, integrity, positive attitude and willingness to provide timely legal advice and guidance.
Compensation & Benefits Salary range: $138,000–$188,000 per year.
Eligible for an annual Incentive Award under the Short‑term Incentive Plan and the Long‑term Incentive Plan (if applicable).
