Hawthorne Recruitment is leading a confidential search for a Vice President, Marketing. This is a senior leadership opportunity for a marketing executive who can set direction, strengthen market position, and build the systems, team, and discipline required to turn strategy into measurable commercial results.
The client is an established organization with a strong offering, meaningful customer relationships, and opportunity for further growth. Given the confidential nature of the search, details regarding the company, sector, leadership structure, and mandate are shared directly with qualified candidates.
The Opportunity
The Vice President, Marketing will own the marketing function at a strategic level. This is not a maintenance role. It calls for someone who can assess where the organization is today, identify what needs to change, and build a stronger, more focused marketing engine around the business.
The successful candidate brings senior judgment, commercial fluency, and the ability to translate a complex offering into explicit positioning, credible messaging, and practical go-to-market activity. They work closely with executive leadership and shape how the organization presents itself to the market.
What You Will Own
Marketing strategy, planning, and execution across the organization
Brand positioning, market narrative, and message discipline
Demand generation and campaign strategy tied to commercial priorities
Sales enablement, customer-facing materials, and market-facing communications
Content, thought leadership, and channel strategy
Marketing systems, reporting, and performance measurement
Leadership, development, and accountability within the marketing function
Cross-functional alignment with sales, customer, product, and executive stakeholders
What Success Looks Like
Success in this role takes both strategy and execution. The right leader brings clarity to the function, focuses activity around business priorities, and builds stronger alignment between marketing and commercial outcomes. Over time, it shows up as:
A clear marketing strategy the business understands and can act on
Stronger market positioning and more consistent external messaging
Better alignment between marketing activity and revenue generation
A more disciplined approach to campaigns, content, reporting, and sales support
A marketing function that operates with ownership, pace, and credibility
A stronger executive voice for marketing at the leadership table
What You Bring
Senior marketing leadership experience in a complex B2B environment. You may come from technology, SaaS, professional services, advanced manufacturing, industrial services, or another setting where the buying process is considered, relationship-driven, and commercially nuanced.
Marketing leadership at the Director, Senior Director, Head of Marketing, or Vice President level
A track record of building marketing strategy, not simply executing someone else’s plan
Strong command of positioning, messaging, demand generation, and sales enablement
Experience supporting growth through practical, commercially connected marketing
The ability to translate complex offerings into clear, credible market language
Confidence working alongside senior leaders and commercial teams
Strong judgment, strong writing instincts, and a high standard for quality
Comfort where structure needs to be built, improved, or refined
The maturity to lead through change while bringing people with you
Location
Flexible for the right leader. Specifics are discussed with qualified candidates as part of the confidential process.
