Join Saanich Schools as a Youth and Family Support Counsellor, starting September 8, 2026. Your role will be essential in managing academic and emotional needs of students effectively.
This full time, temporary position covers parental leave for about four weeks, working Monday to Friday from 8:00 am to 3:30 pm. You will actively help create a focused and respectful learning workplace, bridging the gap between academic challenges and social-emotional needs of students. Collaboration with teachers and families will be vital for success in this role.
Key Responsibilities:
• Support teachers in behavioral and engagement strategies
• Foster mentorship relationships with students
• Work alongside mental health counsellor for holistic support




• Manage classroom dynamics for positive outcomes
• Communicate with families to enhance student development
Requirements:
• Background in youth counselling or education support
• Excellent relational skills with students and families
• Ability to promote a respectful learning atmosphere
• A commitment to student emotional and academic growth
• Full time availability within school operational hours
