The Program

Shoreline House provides culturally-based programming, support and protected, home-based accommodations for youth in the care of Ministry of Children and Family Development (MCFD). The resource is a staffed 24 hour resource providing a long term therapeutic placement for up to 3 children or youth. The resource supports children or youth who have experienced a trauma,



are addressing adverse childhood experiences and/or overcoming other adversities. The program staff will be networking with and working alongside a team of professionals supporting the youth in many life domains, such as education, mental health, physical health, recreation and life skills.

The Position

The Residential Child and Youth Worker (RCYW) provides care to children, youth or adults with moderate to severe behavioural problems in a residential or day program setting in an accredited agency. As key worker for assigned persons served, the RCYW is responsible for overall development and care of those individuals. In conjunction with the individual’s care team, the RCYW assesses physical, psychological, social and developmental needs, and designs and implements individualized personal service plans and plans of care that address and meet those needs. The RCYW also participates in the operation and maintenance of the program.

This Overnight Awake position attends to the health, well-being, safety and security of persons served and the program site at night, and provides general, non-specific services to clients as required. Maintains a comfortable and clean living environment.
