Role Description The Part Time Pharmacist will provide comprehensive dispensing services, including verifying prescriptions, assessing therapeutic appropriateness, and counseling patients on proper medication use and potential side effects. The role involves collaborating with prescribers, managing third-party billing issues, and maintaining accurate, compliant patient records. The pharmacist will oversee medication preparation, ensure adherence to regulatory and safety standards, and support inventory control, including ordering, handling returns, and monitoring expiry dates.
This position also includes answering patient questions, providing health and wellness advice, and supporting pharmacy assistants and technicians as needed. This is an in office role located in Brampton, ON, and is described as a full-time role in terms of responsibilities, but scheduled as part time.
Qualifications
Current licensure in positive standing as a Pharmacist with the Ontario College of Pharmacists (OCP).
Demonstrated knowledge of pharmacotherapy, drug interactions, and patient counseling principles.
Experience with community pharmacy operations, including dispensing workflows and inventory management.
Proficiency with pharmacy management software, electronic prescription systems, and third-party billing.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills to educate patients and collaborate with healthcare providers.
Ability to work accurately in a fast-paced environment, prioritize tasks, and maintain confidentiality.
Commitment to regulatory compliance, medication safety, and continuous career development.
Previous community pharmacy experience is an asset; fluency in additional languages is beneficial.
