Department: NorWest Early Learning and Child Care Centre

Position: Early Childhood Educator II (Frontline Staff)

Status: 4‑month term position with possibility of extension

Hours: Full‑time, 40 hours/week

Shift: Must be available Monday to Friday between 7:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.

Rate: $27.56–$31.49/hour (as per CUPE Daycare Collective Agreement)

Start Date: As soon as possible

Qualifications
Classification as Early Childhood Educator II
Solid interpersonal, team building, and leadership skills
Current first‑aid and CPR certification
Valuable understanding of Early Learning and Child Care Program’s Regulations
Energetic, friendly and enthusiastic
Willing to take initiative
Willingness to work with children who require additional support
Experience in implementing activities for infants is an asset
Subject to successful criminal record check and investigation authorization/child abuse registry check





Responsibilities
Ensure the physical care and safety of the children.
Provide emotional support and nurturing care to children.
Provide children with the chance for optimum growth and development.
Follow Centre’s behaviour management policy.
Maintain confidentiality; follow licensing regulations, and follow Centre policies and procedures.
Mentor staff.
Communicate regularly and effectively with families and outside agencies.
Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
