Under the general supervision of the Director of Lands and Resources, the Finance and Administration Officer supports the effective financial and administrative operations of the Lands and Resources Department. The Officer will assist the Director and Department Program Leads with agreement management, procurement, expenditure tracking, financial reporting, and other financial processes in accordance with organizational policies and funding requirements.
Working collaboratively with other department support staff, the Officer helps ensure the productive delivery of departmental programs, services, and day-to-day operations in accordance with organizational policies, funding requirements and priorities.
Qualifications/Requirements: Diploma or degree in Business Administration, Finance, or related field and one year of related experience, preferred. A combination of training and experience will be considered.
Knowledge of financial tracking and basic accounting
Robust organizational and analytical
Knowledge of First Nation administration and funding structures is an
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, document management, and data tracking
Ability to maintain confidentiality and manage sensitive
Robust teamwork and communication
Ability to communicate in the Cree language is an
Willing to work outside normal work hours as
Must provide satisfactory CPIC or proof of
Valid Ontario Class G driver's license or ability to obtain
Duration: Permanent with 3 months probation
