Salary range: $119,430 to $145,970 per year

Hybrid Work Arrangement
Employees work a hybrid schedule with a minimum of two days onsite, though the requirement may vary based on business needs.

Primary Focus
The Manager, Science and Methods will oversee science and methods functions within the Scientific Evidence, Methodologies, and Resources unit. Responsibilities span HTA disciplines including deliberation, ethics, quantitative methods, real‑world evidence, scientific advice, and qualitative research.

Responsibilities

Lead the team responsible for defining, developing, implementing, resourcing, and refining science and health technology methods, standards, processes, and guidelines, and applying them in HTA.

Ensure scientific credibility, consistency, quality, and methodological rigor in line with CDA-AMC’s strategic plan and performance measurement initiatives.

Produce reports and publications (key strategic initiatives papers, whitepapers, methodology reports, guidelines, policies, manuscripts, presentations).

Collaborate with other business units to optimize quantitative, RWE, qualitative, or ethics methods support.

Communicate internal and external quantitative, RWE, qualitative, or ethics methods, standards, processes, and tools.

Mentor and develop team members who report directly to the manager.

Provide education and training on HTA methods (e.g., quantitative, RWE, ethics) to internal teams and external HTA users.

Show leadership in internal and international HTA collaborations to align methods, standards,



and processes with best practices.

Qualifications

Graduate or postgraduate degree in a health‑related discipline (statistics, biostatistics, clinical epidemiology, pharmacy, public health, social sciences, psychology)

At least 2 years of relevant experience in quantitative, qualitative, mixed‑methods, or ethics research in a health sector.

Broad knowledge of HTA methods, including expertise in at least one of quantitative research design, RWE, or ethics.

Knowledge of appraisal methods and standards for drug and health technology assessment.

Strong grounding in evidence‑based medicine, critical appraisal, and evidence synthesis.

Understanding of Canada’s health care systems and the role of HTA.

Minimum of 2 years in people leadership, with proven ability to develop, engage, and empower others while navigating competing priorities.

Ability to envision future direction, build actionable plans, prioritize, and adapt to changing environments.

Ability to contribute to development, refinement, and advancement of HTA methods.

Ability to manage, facilitate, and champion change, modifying approaches or direction in response to priorities and external environment.

Ability to build and maintain productive working relationships and engage with others from a place of trust and respect.

Ability to develop and maintain continuing qualified knowledge of national and international HTA programs and trends.

Advanced oral and written communication skills, with ability to listen, problem‑solve, negotiate,



and facilitate discussions.

Preferred Qualifications

Publication history reflecting expertise and contributing to a culture of competence.

Basic understanding of health economics and use of clinical data in economic modelling.

Advanced degree in pharmacy.

Fluency in French.
