Responsibilities

Coordinate and/or perform installation and commissioning of new homogenizers sold to customers.

Provide technical and maintenance support for homogenizers.





Travel to customer sites to work on homogenizer systems as per the applicable GEA safe operating procedures and maintenance manuals.

Train customers and employees on the equipment for best operating practices and general maintenance.

Assist third‑party with project execution activities.

Participate in auditing and monitoring activities of GEA equipment on customers’ sites.

Perform routine maintenance procedures, emergency service, and warranty work on GEA product lines.

Collect and classify data using various measuring equipment applicable to the equipment.

Test systems and components using electrical, mechanical, digital, and pneumatic controls.

Maintain records of repairs and maintenance of equipment as per maintenance schedules, corporate governance, legal requirements, and customer requirements.

Provide feedback and recommendations to other departments in the development of new products and the improvement of existing products.

Initiate recommendations for improved tools, procedures, and devices for service operations.

Build parts lists for customers, internal and external.

Troubleshoot, install and repair GEA equipment at customer site.

Basic PLC parameter entry.





Perform service and properly fill out and submit reports and related documents.

Investigate problems, make repair recommendations and perform equipment upgrades.

Perform preventative maintenance services.

Work the necessary hours, including reasonable overtime as required, to satisfy the customer and/or complete the task.

Follow up with customers and affiliates as required.

Perform the required research needed to provide the customers with the correct parts, diagrams, documents, etc.

Contribute to team effort by completing all tasks as may be assigned by the supervisor.

Qualifications

5 to 7 years of experience.

Professional or collegiate diploma in mechanical engineering technology, heavy duty mechanic, millwright, or similar fields.

Travel requirement of at least 75% of the job, with trips across Canada as needed.

Must be able to accommodate a flexible working schedule.

Valid passport and eligibility to work in Canada and the United States when required.

Possible international travel for training and other requirements.

Knowledge of homogenizer systems required or advantageous; if not, demonstrate skills and knowledge applicable to similar mechanical equipment.

Process and electrical knowledge and experience is advantageous.

Experience with PLC (Allen–Bradley is a plus), programming or control panel is considered advantageous.

Bilingual (English and French) is an asset.
