Lead impactful policy initiatives for Indigenous communities as the Indigenous Policy Manager within Alberta's Ministry of Justice in Edmonton. This full time role focuses on strategic leadership and operational support within Indigenous justice programming.
The Ministry of Justice is seeking a Manager for Indigenous Policy and Services to drive positive outcomes for Indigenous and Métis peoples. You will oversee programs such as the Indigenous Court Worker Program and work with teams across the Justice Supports Branch to establish effective practices.
The role demands critical thinking, effective communication, and a deep understanding of Indigenous justice issues.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage and respond to emerging justice issues promptly
Develop and implement policies to enhance Indigenous justice
Provide expert advice on complex policy matters
Maintain relationships with Indigenous communities and partners
Support negotiations involving governance and funding
Requirements:
University degree in Public Policy or related field
At least five years of experience with Indigenous organizations
Solid management and organizational skills
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
Experience with grant funding administration
Utilize your leadership and policy expertise to drive meaningful change in Alberta's justice system.
