Lead legal strategies at Nova Scotia Health as a Legal Counsel in the East Coast Forensic Hospital. This role focuses on mental health law and providing robust legal support.
As a Legal Counsel, you'll report to the Associate General Counsel, providing critical legal guidance to Nova Scotia Health employees and leadership. This full time, two-year position emphasizes your expertise in health law, administrative law, and privacy law while addressing complex, multidimensional legal challenges.
You'll collaborate with the Mental Health and Addictions Program, ensuring legal representation for various services.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide legal advice to Nova Scotia Health’s leadership
Represent NSH in legal matters with external parties
Analyze and resolve complex legal issues independently
Advise on mental health law and administrative procedures
Collaborate effectively with healthcare professionals and legal teams
Requirements:
Bachelor of Law (LLB/JD) required
Minimum 8 years relevant legal experience
Practising member of the Nova Scotia Barristers’ Society
Robust analytical and research skills
Excellent oral and written communication abilities
Elevate legal guidance in health law, mental health, and ethics at Nova Scotia Health.
