Role Overview
The Department of National Defence (DND) supports the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) and the Canadian Coast Guard. As a Civilian Licensed Aircraft Maintenance Engineer (AME), you maintain and repair fixed-wing and rotary-wing aircraft supporting operations across Canada, including Arctic regions and aboard Canadian Coast Guard vessels.

Operational Requirements

Willingness and ability to undertake training to maintain or upgrade knowledge, skills and abilities

Willingness and ability to work variable day or shift schedules, including weekends or overtime on short notice, and occasional standby during designated rest days

Willingness and ability to work in various positions on aircraft and in the hangar, which may involve standing, kneeling, lying, and sitting as well as crawling into confined spaces and climbing elevated maintenance stands

Essential Qualifications
Education
Successful completion of a recognized post‑secondary school program in aircraft maintenance or an acceptable combination of education, training and experience deemed equivalent.

Occupational Certification
Possession of a valid Canadian Aircraft Maintenance Engineer category licence M1, M2 or both.

Experience
Recent and significant experience as a licensed Aircraft Maintenance Engineer maintaining fixed or rotary wing aircraft. At least 3 years of relevant experience and within the last 5 years. (Stream 1 requires fixed‑wing experience; Stream 2 requires rotary‑wing experience; Stream 3 requires either.)

Experience or training in maintenance for Bombardier Challenger series, De Havilland Dash series, Bell 412, Bell 429, Bombardier Global series

Experience or training on Class 1/2/3 Remotely Piloted Aircraft Systems (RPAS)

Security clearance: Secret

Possession of a valid driver’s licence

Possession of a valid passport

Successful completion of medical examinations prescribed by Health Canada (for some positions)

Willing and able to undertake initial and updated dunker training (for some positions)

Willingness to travel to repair/return to service an unserviceable aircraft away from base (for some positions)

Willing and able to travel for extended periods up to six weeks at a time aboard Canadian Coast Guard Ships in Coastal Waterways (for some positions)

Strict adherence to DND and Canadian Forces Code of Values and Ethics and related directives
