Position Purpose
The Process Operator works as part of a team in a continuous process manufacturing environment. The Process Operator adheres to all safety and environmental parameters that apply in a chemical manufacturing operation. The Process Operator works primarily in the process building and takes directions from the Shift Leader and reports to the Production Manager. The Process Operator is jointly responsible for ensuring production targets are being maintained while meeting all quality parameters for the finished product.

Key Responsibilities

Perform small repairs on equipment; communicate directly with the Shift Leader to coordinate complicated repairs and maintenance requirements; assist maintenance employees as needed in performing maintenance and repairs.

Takes routine field readings and diagnoses faults affecting facility conditions.

Operate the hoist within the facility.

Carry out cleaning duties of the facility.

Understand the process flow and equipment.

Safe handling of chemicals, wearing appropriate PPE.

Monitor and manage wastewater systems, sanitary and storm water systems.

Operate pumps, valve orientation, connect/disconnect hoses to transfer products, chemicals or wastewater.

Actively participate in safety programs and initiatives.

Adhere to Kosher practices.

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED required.

Telehandler or lift experience preferred.

Familiar and knowledgeable in Transportation of Dangerous Goods an asset.

Experience working in an industrial setting, specifically a loading/unloading terminal is an asset.

Experience with handling hazardous liquid chemicals preferred.

The ability to work from written and oral instruction.

Superior work ethic and dependability.





A working knowledge of programs such as Microsoft Office and the Internet.

Physical Demands

Must wear and maintain company required Personal Protective Equipment including FR pants, long-sleeve shirt, safety glasses, hard hat, safety-toe boots, hearing protection, and gloves.

Physically able to perform various job essential functions, including but not limited to: crouching, kneeling, bending, walking long distances, lifting/pushing/pulling/carrying up to 50 pounds, work at heights, continuous work in confined spaces, ascend/descend/ work from stairs/ladders/scaffolding.

Must have the ability to work continuously in an environment inclusive of dust, loud noise, uneven or slippery surfaces, outdoors, heat/cold, poorly illuminated areas.
