A well-established international engineering and environmental consulting firm is seeking an Intermediate to Senior Hydrogeologist to join its growing North Vancouver team. This is an opportunity to work alongside highly respected technical leaders on complex mining and water resource projects across Canada and internationally.

The organization is recognized globally for its expertise in hydrogeology, mine water management, and geotechnical consulting, with projects spanning BC, the Yukon, the United States, and Latin America. The local hydrogeology group is collaborative, technically strong, and actively growing due to sustained project demand.

The Opportunity
This role is flexible depending on experience level and technical strengths. The successful candidate will contribute to a broad mix of hydrogeological and mine water management projects, with a strong focus on mining-related work.

Key areas of focus may include:

Groundwater modelling and hydrogeological analysis

Mine water balance modelling and operational water management

Hydrogeological monitoring and characterization programs

Pit dewatering and depressurization assessments

Groundwater supply and environmental impact assessments

Field investigations including pumping tests, well installation oversight, and groundwater sampling

Data analysis, interpretation, and technical reporting

Supporting multidisciplinary mining and infrastructure projects from planning through operations

This is an excellent prospect for someone who enjoys both technical problem solving and practical field-based hydrogeology work.

What You Bring
Intermediate Level

Registered or eligible for registration as a P.Eng. or P.Geo. in Canada

Ability to work independently with mentorship from senior technical staff

Strong interest in continuing to develop across technical disciplines





Field experience or exposure to hydrogeological investigations is considered an asset

Senior Level

Typically 10+ years of relevant hydrogeological consulting experience

Experience managing projects and leading technical work with minimal oversight

Strong client communication and project coordination abilities

Proven experience delivering hydrogeological or mine water projects in consulting environments

Required Qualifications

Degree in Geological Engineering, Hydrogeology, Geoscience, or related discipline

P.Eng. or P.Geo. designation in Canada

Strong analytical, technical, and problem-solving abilities

Excellent attention to detail and ability to follow technical procedures precisely

Strong communication and report-writing skills

Advanced Microsoft Excel skills

Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel occasionally for field work

Preferred Experience

Groundwater modelling or numerical modelling aptitude

Mine water balance experience

Experience with software such as MODFLOW, GoldSim, FeFlow, AquiferTest, GIS, or related platforms

Programming or scripting exposure (Python, VBA, or R considered strong assets)

Open pit mining or hydrogeological consulting experience

Experience planning and coordinating field programs

Compensation & Benefits

Salary range: $90,000 – $130,000 depending on experience and level

Annual performance bonus (~10%)
