Apple's Software Engineering organization (SWE) is responsible for some of the most advanced software on the planet, across many platforms and products. Our internal tools team delivers the tools and services that keep SWE running, and we are hiring!
In this role, you will directly be shaping the future of the Software Engineering organization by building tools and experiences that will allow Apple to continue building world‑class software for our customers for years to come. We consider every stage of the software development lifecycle from version control, to at‑desk tools, to the final production build.
As an engineer on the Workflow Experience team, you will be responsible for taking some of the most complex tooling in the industry and making it beautiful and seamless so engineers can have the right tool at every stage of the software development lifecycle. Because our team serves all of SWE, we develop software for all of Apple's platforms at all levels from daemons on macOS to client/server applications on iOS, and everything in between.
Responsibilities Design and build client/server applications and tooling supporting the full software development lifecycle
Develop software across all Apple platforms, from macOS daemons to iOS applications
Simplify complex workflows by creating seamless,
intuitive experiences for internal engineering teams
Drive continuous software delivery patterns and up-to-date engineering practices
Lead complex projects from conception through delivery with a strong focus on end‑user experience
Use Xcode, lldb, Instruments, and other debugging tools to ensure quality
Minimum Qualifications Significant native Apple platform experience in Swift or Objective‑C
Experience designing and building client/server applications
Experience with Xcode and debugging tools like lldb and Instruments
Enthusiastic about continuous software delivery patterns
Passion for great design and user experiences
Preferred Qualifications A passion for driving modern software engineering practices
A track record of driving complex projects
Intense focus on delivering an exceptional customer experience
Experience building developer tools
Expertise in version control systems like Git
Pay & Benefits Base pay range: $119,100 to $230,500. Additional benefits include comprehensive medical and dental coverage, retirement advantages, discounted products, free services, tuition reimbursement, discretionary stock programs (RSUs and ESPP), and potential discretionary bonuses or commission payments, as well as relocation assistance.
