TRS Staffing Solutions has an exciting opportunity for a Material Handling Designer role to work for an amazing EPCM client in Vancouver, BC. This is a long-term contract position that comes with great opportunity to work on medium to large sized Mining projects.

Pay Rate: $75-$85/hour.

Responsibilities

Produce 2D CAD drawings of moderate complexity.

Integrate health, safety, and environmental considerations into designs.

Engage in model reviews using a 3D review platform and develop 3D models of moderate complexity.

Generate estimates, schedules, progress reports, and key quantity tracking reports.

Design assigned projects, creating 3D layouts or 2D drawings of moderate complexity to assist the Design Area Lead.

Examine vendor equipment documentation of basic complexity within the discipline and across other disciplines for project compliance, and actively resolve discrepancies.

Adhere to project drawing standards for 3D layouts and design drawings.

Qualifications





Accredited two-year degree or equivalent, plus ten years of relevant experience, or twelve years of combined education and experience if non-degreed.

Basic knowledge of Microstation, Intergraph SmartPlant Review, and 3D modeling software (Intergraph SP3D), with practical field experience.

Advanced knowledge of 2D CAD systems and procedures.

Intermediate knowledge of 3D CAD systems and procedures.

Knowledge of mining material handling equipment: crushers, conveyors, screens, and loading/unloading systems.

Intermediate skills in word processing, email, spreadsheet, and presentation software.

Experience in preparing platework drawings.

Effective communication skills with management, coworkers, clients, vendors, contractors, and visitors.

Attention to detail and ability to work efficiently within time constraints.

Experience in preparing equipment, outline drawings and layouts.
