About the Team Being part of the Data Cloud organization at Workday, the team is building on the semantic platform to enable agentic access to Workday Data Cloud. The mission of the team is to accelerate agent development and provide a friction‑less experience for agents to interact with federated data sources.
About the Role In this role, you will spearhead the engineering efforts to build agentic capabilities on a platform that enables internal and external agents to interact seamlessly with the Workday Data Cloud through a robust semantic layer and MCP server framework. As a senior engineer you will be responsible for delivering mission‑critical capabilities that meet rigorous functional and quality requirements on schedule. You will also drive the engineering effort to architect and evaluate the effectiveness and accuracy of the agents.
Basic Qualifications 8+ years experience in software development engineering, architecting, building, and scaling robust and efficient software systems.
5+ years hands‑on experience delivering Machine Learning or Agent systems from experimentation, implementation, validation and monitoring.
Expert in Machine Learning or Data Science, familiar with Agent frameworks and design patterns.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.




Other Qualifications Strong understanding of development lifecycles for projects utilizing programming languages and frameworks like Scala, Python, PyTorch, LangChain, etc.
Strong ability in algorithmic thinking to design and optimize solutions for complex ML and Agentic systems.
Solid experience with API development, and experience in designing and building MCP server.
Strong understanding of object‑oriented design principles and their application in designing scalable software architectures.
Proven ability to lead team collaboration within a software development team and mentor junior engineers.
Strong skills in verbal and written communications.
Pay & Compensation Primary location: Vancouver, BC. Base pay range: $140,000 – $210,000 CAD. May include bonus and stock grants.
Workplace Flexibility We combine in‑person time and work from home. At least 50% of work time each quarter is spent in the office or with clients.
