What is the Opportunity? RBC team in Halifax is looking for an experienced Business Analyst who will work with business end users to elicit and document business needs. They will collaborate with technical delivery team members to maximize and leverage the understanding of business solution functional and non-functional requirements, to ensure that the software solutions developed and tested are fit for purpose, meet business needs and are operationally sustainable. Candidates will make use of AI tools, demonstrate advanced BA knowledge and ability, and can apply the competency in new or complex situations.
What will you do? Elicit and analyze Business requirements and create documentation such as current (as is) and future state (to be) business process, user stories, data catalogues, business rules, use cases and user interface design. Incorporate the use of AI tools when performing core BA tasks.
Perform gap analysis and document gaps as functional requirements for review & approval, development and testing.
Contribute to requirements prioritization and leverage techniques to drive out priorities and meet quarterly and annual business objectives.
Work collaboratively with our business partners and stakeholders from multiple IT teams (i.e. source systems).
Analyze and review different options for data integration and provide recommendations on the solution; such as assessing and defining materiality of data quality issues and possible impact to project objectives.
Contribute to data model and system architecture decisions.
Manage performance through regular coaching discussions, providing transparency on where the employees are at from a performance perspective.
Communicate effectively, written and verbal, to various audiences (technical and non-technical).
Must Have Strong business communication and stakeholder management skills
Experience analyzing data using SQL
Advanced problem solving skills and technical acumen
4+ years of Business Analysis experience in technology and/or financial services industry.
Ability to gather functional business process requirements and contribute to translating user requests into technical specifications in a timely manner.
Nice to Have Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP) or Project Management Institute – Skilled in Business Analysis (PMI – PBA) Certification
Strong knowledge of fundamental data concepts (for example, but not limited to groups, hierarchies, data structures).
Working experience with various asset classes such as Fixed Income, Equities, Derivatives, Money Market Instrument and OTC Derivatives
Experience working with ML or AI tools
