Job Description Summary The Assistant Server sets the tone for Sonesta’s mission by always going above and beyond for our guests and coworkers. The assistant is responsible for clearing and setting tables, and supporting the service team in a timely manner. The ideal candidate has a passion for hospitality and providing exceptional service. Work Environment On‑site hotel restaurant facility. Must be able to work in a fast‑paced environment. Physical Demands Must be able to exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally or 20 pounds of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects. Frequent bending, stooping, kneeling and reaching. Ability to stand during entire shift. Expected Hours of Work Must be flexible to work variable days of the week to include weekends and holidays. Must be flexible to work variable shifts (days, nights, overnights). Ten to twelve hour shifts sometimes required. Education And Experience Assistant Server experience in hotels preferred. Responsibilities Assists servers in their tasks. Ensures all service stations in the kitchen are stocked and ready for service. Removes soiled dishes from table; brings to dishwashing area. Completes set up and teardown of dining events as assigned.



Carries food trays to tables using the correct seat positions on the ticket. Puts entrée to the correct seat positions accordingly. Sets tables with silverware, glassware and other items. Polishes silverware before and after shifts. Cleans dining room areas. Stocks servers’ station with supplies. Delivers passionate & engaging service to our guests. Recognizes and anticipates individual guests’ unique needs to exceed their expectations. Other duties may be assigned. The employee is expected to work in other areas of the hotel when needed to assist operations. GUEST Model Greet or welcome everyone warmly with a smile. Use eye and ear contact and guests’ name. Establish/anticipate needs. Solve and own all requests/complaints. Thank everyone. Build a solid relationship with colleagues. Treat colleagues with respect and dignity. Qualifications and Skills Attentive, friendly, helpful and courteous to all guests, managers and fellow employees. Smart Serve certification required. Excellent organizational skills. Prioritization and time‑management skills. Able to work quickly without compromising quality. Ability to work with little supervision and maintain a high level of performance. Additional Job Information Pay Range $18.19 to $20.22 hourly.
