KPMG's Tax Incentives Practice (TIP) consists of a multi-disciplinary team of engineers and accountants that assist our clients to obtain tax savings through incentive programs like SR&ED.KPMG is currently seeking to add a Manager to the team with a solid engineering background that has a desire to be exposed to new state-of-the-art innovations in a wide range of industries. In this role you will assist our clients in identifying eligible SR&ED activities and describe these activities in a technical report. We will provide you with specialized training on Canada's SR&ED Tax Incentive Program which encourages businesses operating in Canada to develop new products or processes or improve existing ones in the field of science or technology.What You Will DoBe exposed to new and exciting technologies and state-of-the-art innovations in a range of industries with a focus on mechanical/chemical engineeringWork with Senior Managers to participate in and support client technical interviews and examine operations to identify SR&ED eligible projects/activitiesAssist in the preparation and review of SR&ED claim submissionsCreate and manage a project management plan, organise and execute multiple engagements on time and within budgetClient Management – Successfully develop and manage client relationshipsWhat You Bring To The RoleA university degree in Mechanical Engineering,
Chemical Engineering or related field3–5 years of progressive experience as a senior SR&ED consultant/manager is a mustExperience in other R&D related government tax incentive programs is an assetAbility to conduct conversations to understand root causes for technical/scientific issues and understand key development concepts in R&D scopeGood working knowledge of Microsoft Office Tools (Excel, Word, etc.)Keen interest in staying up-to-date with cutting-edge technologies and trendsAnalytical thinker who can draw inferences and make unexpected connectionsHighly driven, autonomous, resilient and team‐player with a strong work ethicKPMG Ontario Region Pay Range InformationThe expected base salary range for this position is $79,000 to $118,000 and may be eligible for bonus awards. The determination of an applicant's base salary within this range is based on the individual's location, skills & competencies, and unique qualifications.
