Position Summary
The Construction Superintendent will manage and control assigned projects, including overseeing field operations, site safety, productivity, schedule, quality work, and trade contractor and supplier coordination in conjunction with the Project Manager leading the project team. Responsibilities include directing day‑to‑day on‑site activities, planning crew activities for the short and long term, resolving field construction issues, maintaining client relations, upholding a high standard of safety and quality, and managing small‑to‑medium‑sized projects or directing a portion of a major project while ensuring proper field protocols.
Position Details
Onsite position; candidate must reside in High Level or be willing to relocate.
Willingness and ability to travel throughout the province as required.
Monday‑to‑Friday work schedule.
Work hours: 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
Camping or Leave‑of‑Absence accommodations provided.
Open to employee or ISP/DSP candidates.
Core Accountabilities
Manage crews, subcontractors, and all resources to complete the job.
Build a competitive organization by attracting, developing, and retaining talent.
Actively participate in construction planning and scheduling.
Assist in bidding for current jobs as required.
Lead overall implementation to ensure projects are constructed on time and cost‑effectively.
Manage project budget and resource allocation when required.
Ensure all field personnel complete required safety training and hold appropriate tickets.
Ensure compliance with project procedures, safety requirements, and maintenance procedures.
Maintain equipment and facilities in accordance with company standards.
Document all violations and incidents.
Qualifications
Experience
Minimum of 10 years of experience in supervision and project oversight within mechanical construction and maintenance, specifically oil and gas pipelines and facilities.
Reading P&ID;’s, surveys, GA’s, and related documents.
Dimensioning and drafting isometrics.
Site and ROW layout.
Bending.
ACORN and Bluebeam proficiency.
MS Excel, MS Teams, Outlook.
MS Projects, Primavera P6 (asset).
Coordinating ground disturbance.
Vendor management.
ASME and CSA standards.
Quality control requirements.
Project controls.
Education
Valid H2S Alive, Standard First Aid, Ground Disturbance Level 2, and Confined Space Entry/Monitor tickets.
API 1169 is an asset.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Must pass pre‑employment drug and alcohol testing.
Solid understanding of construction methods and blueprint reading.
Sound knowledge of construction execution and best practices.
Superior leadership skills.
Developed analytical thinking and problem‑solving skills.
Capable of participating in and facilitating group meetings.
Excellent organizational and time‑management skills.
Meticulous record‑keeping skills.
Self‑directed with minimal supervision.
