General Function
The successful candidate will support the original equipment manufacturer (OEM) automotive training initiatives. The training duties of this position require effective presentation and course development skills in order to successfully conduct technical seminars and Instructor Led Hands‑On training. This training will be delivered to the OEM team in person and virtually as required. Technical aptitude is essential to this role. The successful candidate must be highly motivated and able to complete tasks with minimal direction. The ideal candidate will have a Dealership or Independent Service Center Technician, Service Consultant, Technical Assistance Agent, and Service Manager Experience.
Responsibilities

Conduct technical training
Create customized content regularly based on customer and field requirements
Work closely with other suppliers for classroom scheduling on a weekly basis
Setup and tear down classroom scheduling
Management of training fleet
Audit and inventory tools daily
Interface with OEM Automotive engineering
Interface with OEM Brand Quality
Interface with Field Service Engineers as required
Work with customers on class schedule
U.S Travel required for cross‑functional activities
Any other duties as required
Qualifications
Minimum of 5 years of General Motors Automotive industry experience.
Journeyman automotive technician with a Valid Class ‘A’ Automotive Technician License (or Provincial Equivalent)
Extensive working knowledge of automotive systems, and GM OEM experience preferred.
In‑depth knowledge of repair procedures and day‑to‑day workings of an Automotive Dealership
Bachelor's degree or equivalent work‑related experience
Ability to utilize various instructional methods to deliver practical training to groups ranging in size from 3 – 60 participants with preference given to candidates with automotive training experience (all makes, all models)
Valid ODP Certification license instructor status is an asset
Experience working in a unionized environment is an assetWillingness to work evenings and weekends as required
Demonstrated ability to work independently of daily supervision
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office - Word, Excel, PowerPoint
Valid driver’s license as driving a vehicle in and out of the shop on a daily basis is an essential function of this position
Able to obtain a valid passport and be able to travel to the U.S.
Some overnight travel required
