Responsibilities
Position will be mostly remote, but may need to be on-site occasionally for key meetings/interactions
Responsible for the project engineering leadership of the Controls System team, which consists of multi-disciplinary members.
Develop and manage program EAC.
Develop resource plans, ensure proper forecast in the MAT tool with help from PP&C; and PMO.
Build and maintain the program IMS, and deploy earned value management.
Provide clarity and prioritization on engineering task execution to ensure projects are completed within budget and scheduling constraints.
Develops, implements, and monitors metrics to ensure data is up-to-date, program status, and proactively drives corrective actions. Manage risks.
Proven strong leadership and communication skills. Performs a variety of tasks. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected.
Qualifications
Requires a Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Controls Systems, Software, Systems Design, Chemical or Mechanical engineering and 6-8 years of experience in Aerospace.
3 to 5+ years of project engineering leadership experience in an aerospace engineering workplace with a development program experience in a DO178B/C, DO254, and ARP4754 environments.
Candidate must be cleared for military development programs.
Additional Qualifications
Experience with requirements management an asset.
Familiarity with control systems is desirable.
Broad technical knowledge of program management, aircraft, aircraft subsystems, and certification methods
Flexible and open leadership style, ability to adapt to changing systems, processes, and projects
Can effectively deal with ambiguity; decide and act with limited information, comfortable handling risk and uncertainty
Identify and remove barriers to success, the ability to listen to all views and decide on the best direction for the business, and achieve results
Is dedicated to meeting the expectations and requirements of customers, establishes and maintains effective customer relationships
Able to lead remote teams. Clearly assigns responsibility for tasks and decisions.
Sets clear objectives and establishes diagnostics and metrics, monitors results, and delivers timely and objective feedback
