Manager, Architectural Project Design
CertainTeed Architectural is seeking a Manager, Project Design to lead and mentor a talented team of Senior Project Coordinators and Project Design Supervisors across our Decoustics and Strongsville Wood divisions. This is a pivotal leadership role focused on scheduling, resource allocation, and driving technical excellence in shop drawings and project design for custom ceiling and wall products.
Lead, coach, and mentor a multidisciplinary design team (89 direct reports).
~ Assign and schedule projects, manage team workload, and conduct performance reviews.
~ Oversee the creation and validation of detailed shop drawings using AutoCAD.
~ Collaborate with internal and external clients to address design and technical inquiries.
~ Develop and implement CAD procedures and Standard Operating Procedures.
~ Support cross-training and process improvement initiatives to maximize team flexibility.
~ Manage external freelancers and oversee invoicing and billing.
~ Provide regular project status reviews to Project Managers and Senior Management.
~ Travel quarterly to Strongsville and other North American locations (

~15+ years industry experience in commercial construction or equivalent.
~15+ years leadership experience managing cross-functional design teams.
~ Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD knowledge of SolidWorks; Knowledge of custom ceiling design (fiberglass, metal, wood) is a strong asset
