Position Summary
This is an excellent opportunity for a clinical pharmacist looking to build a rewarding career outside of traditional retail pharmacy.
Working closely with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals, you will provide clinical pharmacy services to residents across long-term care, retirement, and congregate living communities. Through medication reviews, collaborative care planning, and ongoing clinical support, you will play an important role in optimizing medication therapy and improving patient outcomes.
This position offers the opportunity to apply your clinical expertise in a collaborative environment where patient-centred care, quality improvement, and interdisciplinary collaboration are at the forefront, all while enjoying a predictable Monday to Friday schedule.
Key Responsibilities
Complete comprehensive medication reviews for residents in long-term care and retirement communities.
Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and interdisciplinary healthcare teams to optimize medication therapy.
Build and maintain strong relationships with long-term care homes, retirement communities, and healthcare partners.
Conduct on-site clinical visits, medication audits, and quality improvement initiatives.
Provide education to residents, families, and healthcare staff on medication management and clinical topics.
Ensure compliance with provincial regulatory standards and professional practice requirements.
Support clinical initiatives, pharmacy transitions, and ongoing quality improvement projects.
Maintain accurate clinical documentation and patient records.
Qualifications
Licensed or eligible for licensure as a Pharmacist in Alberta.
Strong clinical assessment and medication management skills.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and relationship-building abilities.
Ability to work independently while collaborating within an interdisciplinary healthcare team.
Solid organizational, planning, and time management skills.
Previous experience in long-term care, retirement care, or clinical pharmacy is considered an asset.
Valid Alberta driver's licence and willingness to travel throughout the Edmonton area.
