Catholic Social Services is currently seeking two dynamic and e ngaging Employment Workshop Facilitators who are passionate about adult learning and workforce development to join our Workforce Development team . These positions will support the delivery of two new employment training programs:Ready to Serve (RTS) and Renewing Expertise, Navigating Upward (RENU).

This is an 18-month, full-time contract position, ending on March 31, 2028 , with the possibility of extension. Job application closing date: August 1 0 , 2026.

The ideal candidate is a skilled trainer and facilitator who enjoys working with diverse groups of learners and can create interactive and engaging classroom learning e xperiences , while motivat ing participants to achieve their employment goals .

The Employment Workshop Facilitator is responsible for delivering employment readiness and workplace skills training to program participants in a classroom setting. Working closely with members of the employment team, the Facilitator also assesses participant s’ progress, support s workplace readiness , and foster s an inclusive learning environment that encourages participants’ success .

Program Overview:

Ready to Serve (RTS)

A 16 ‑ week program prepares participants for employment in the food and service industries through employment readiness workshops, paid work ‑ based learning, and follow ‑ up support.

RENU Program

A 16 ‑ week program supportsinternationally trained professionals in Business Administration, IT, and Human Services through group learning, individualized coaching, and work ‑ based learning.

Key Responsibilities

- Contribute to the evaluation and continuous improvement of training curriculum, lesson plans and program materials.
- Support participants in obtaining required industry certification (i.e., Alberta Food Safety Certification andProServeCertificate, and others).
- Facilitate in-person and in some cases, virtual, learning sessionsto prepare participants fortheirWork-Based Learning/Practicumexperience.
- Plan and deliverworkshopscovering topics such as Intercultural and Multicultural Communication in Canada and Career Development and Planning.
- Facilitate group reflection sessions to supportparticipants’continuous learning and confidence building.
- Create a positive, inclusive,and culturally responsive learning environment.
- Adapt instructional approaches to accommodate diverse learning styles and educational backgrounds.




- Foster participant engagement through interactive activities, discussions, role-playing,andexperiential learning techniques.
- Work with Career Counsellors toassistclients with resume development and other job search tools to support employment readiness.
- Support participants in building confidence, communication skills, and workplace professionalism.
- Conduct participant assessments and identify learning needsand provide one-on-one coaching as needed.
- Monitor participant attendance,participationand progress,and provide constructive feedback to support participant growth.
- Conduct mock interviews and supportparticipantsin transitioning successfully into workplace learning experiences.
- Maintainaccurateand up-to-date participant records incompany’sCRMand inCOMPASS; ensuringtimelycompletion of participant evaluation report.
- Work closely with the Team Lead and program staff to achieve program targets and outcomesand prepare andsubmitsummary reports to the program’s Team Lead.
- Assistwith program evaluation and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.

What This Job Requires:

- Diploma or degree in Social Work,Adult Education,Psychology, Career Development, orrelatedfield.
- Minimum 2 years of experience infacilitatingworkshops,trainingor adult learning programs in non-profit organizations.
- Experience serving diverse, multicultural, and underrepresented populations in workforce development and employment services.
- Ability tomaintainconfidentiality and handle sensitive participant information with professionalism and discretion.
- Experiencefacilitatingboth in-person and virtual learning environments.
- Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered.
- Police Information Check including vulnerable sector search, Intervention Record Check and/ or summary of driving record are conditions of employment and thefinancial responsibilityof the candidate.
- Strong classroom facilitation and presentation skills.
- Knowledge of adult learning principles and instructional techniques.
- Ability to engageand motivate learners fromdiversebackgrounds in a culturally responsive manner.

- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Skilled in managing group dynamics and fostering participation.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.

Working Conditions:

- Primarilyclassroom-based.
- Requires standing and moving about the classroom for extended periods whilefacilitatingtraining sessions.
- Occasional evening and weekend work may berequiredto supportparticipant engagement activities and events.
