About the Opportunity Financial Reporting & General Accounting Manage and oversee general accounting activities, including intercompany accounting and reconciliations, payroll and benefits accounting, fixed assets and depreciation, accruals and prepayments, intangible assets accounting, lead month‑end, quarter‑end, and year‑end close processes.
Review and approve journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules.
Ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards and company policies.
Support accurate and timely internal and external financial reporting and audit compliance.

Team Leadership & Development Lead, coach, and develop accounting staff, overseeing one direct report and an additional member of the shared services team.
Establish explicit performance expectations and accountability measures.
Foster a culture of continuous improvement, collaboration, and professional development.
Provide technical accounting guidance and mentorship to team members.

Balance Sheet Reconciliations & Internal Controls Oversee monthly balance sheet reconciliations and ensure timely resolution of outstanding items.
Maintain effective internal controls over financial reporting.
Identify opportunities for process standardization, automation, and operational efficiencies.
Ensure accounting processes are documented and consistently followed.





Audit & Compliance Coordinate annual external audits and manage audit deliverables.
Review audit schedules and supporting documentation.
Act as the primary liaison with external auditors.
Ensure timely responses to audit requests and regulatory inquiries.
Support statutory reporting and regulatory compliance requirements.

Tax Compliance & Regulatory Matters Manage corporate tax accounting activities, including tax provisions, tax‑related journal entries, tax payments and remittances, and tax account reconciliations.
Coordinate requests from external tax advisors and consultants.
Manage correspondence with relevant regulatory bodies.
Support tax audits, assessments, and compliance reviews.

Systems, Automation & Process Improvement Act as a key finance lead for Microsoft Dynamics 365.
Leverage technology to streamline accounting operations and improve reporting accuracy.
Identify, implement, and manage AI‑powered automation solutions across finance and accounting processes.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on efficiency, scalability, and data quality.
Partner with IT and business stakeholders on system implementations, upgrades, and integrations.

Business Partnering Support Enterprise Performance Reporting (EPR) and management reporting requirements.
Partner with operational leaders to provide accounting guidance and financial insights.




Respond to ad hoc requests from management and senior leadership.
Participate in cross‑functional projects and strategic initiatives.

About You CPA designation.
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field.
5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including management responsibilities.
Strong knowledge of financial reporting, month‑end close, audit, internal controls, and corporate tax.
Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365.
Demonstrated experience implementing or leveraging AI and automation solutions within finance and accounting processes.
Experience managing external audits and regulatory compliance activities.
Advanced Microsoft Excel and financial systems proficiency.
Strong analytical, organizational, and problem‑solving skills.
Strong communication skills, ability to lead meetings and articulate effectively.
Experience in food manufacturing, distribution, retail, or franchising environments.
Experience with Power BI, Microsoft Power Platform, Copilot, RPA tools, or other AI‑enabled business applications.
Strong technical accounting and financial reporting expertise.
Proven leadership and people‑management skills.
Advanced ERP systems knowledge, particularly Microsoft Dynamics 365.
Passion for leveraging AI, automation, and technology to transform finance processes.
Ability to balance operational execution with strategic thinking.
Strong stakeholder management and cross‑functional collaboration skills.
Commitment to continuous improvement, compliance, and operational excellence.
Salary Range $110,000 - $130,000 / year
Location Greater Toronto Area; must be permitted to work in Canada.
