The salary range for this position is $75,000 to $90,000 plus a competitive bonus and incentive package. Final compensation will be determined based on relevant skills, experience, qualifications, and internal equity. In addition to base salary, eligible employees may be entitled to other elements of total compensation, which may include group benefits, employer RRSP contributions, & discretionary bonus or incentive programs, where applicable to the role. The Business Development Manager, Inside Sales is responsible for building strong external and internal relationships, conducting extensive prospect research, generating quality leads, developing prospects, and being instrumental in selling new business. The right candidate will work with a sense of urgency with our prospective clients to understand their current and future needs. They will educate prospects on the benefits of working with Compass Group Canada by clearly establishing the value of our services related to their specific needs and how we are distinguished from our competitors – through our service, our culture, and our commitment to being the very best in food and support services across Canada.
Now, If You Were To Come On Board As Our Business Development Manager, Inside Sales, We’d Ask You To Do The Following For Us
High degree of cold outreach prospecting – meeting a quarterly target for meetings booked
Pipeline management – Demonstrated experience building a healthy pipeline of opportunities and accurately forecasting future business wins.
Time management – Successfully multi‑tasks, creates a sense of urgency and works within deadlines
Trade show support – Assist the trade marketing team with various events and in‑market initiatives
Become an expert in DiSC – A behavioral assessment framework we use to help us build better relationships both externally and internally
CRM database management/maintenance – Demonstrated experience using a CRM with a commitment to maintaining accurate and updated records for all prospects
Presentations and email marketing support – Supporting Directors of Business Development in presentation creation and preparation
Extensive prospect research and pre‑call planning – Using a suite of online tools to gain detailed insight into all prospects, and creating pre‑call checklists ahead of booked meetings
Initial prospect qualification – able to identify viable business opportunities
Proposal Support – assisting with the bidding process as needed
Essential Functions And Key Tasks
Identify new business opportunities and targets across several verticals and lines of service
Own and execute a multi‑channel outreach strategy to consistently generate a sales‑ready pipeline for the Director of Business Development team
Conduct extensive prospect and market research utilizing a suite of online research tools
Maintain accurate and timely records in the CRM
Support in trade marketing initiatives such as sales blitzes, trade shows, conferences, etc
Participate in and support the proposal development/bid response process, including strategy sessions, site tours, creative development, financial modeling and presentation development/rehearsals
Role
Min 2+ years’ experience in an active hunter sales role
High degree of resiliency and a very entrepreneurial approach
Highly coachable, willing to adopt our proven sales model, which provides the opportunity to leverage your sales acumen while being open and committed to learning a new go‑to‑market sales approach
Cold‑calling experience, particularly in outreach to C‑Suite Executives
Solid written and verbal communication skills
Experience in building rapport with new prospects and forging strong relationships with key decision makers
Highly effective at objection handling, leveraging empathy and insightful questions to uncover root concerns and drive progress
High degree of personal accountability, integrity and assertiveness to deliver required outcomes
Strong problem‑solving proficiency that showcases the ability to think critically in high‑pressure moments
Self‑motivated professional who proactively identifies opportunities and follows through to completion
Demonstrates the ability to thoughtfully leverage AI tools to enhance performance and efficiency while maintaining strong independent judgment and expertise
Exceptional time‑management skills, with the ability to balance competing priorities efficiently
Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and CRM applications
Ability to travel periodically for client meetings, conferences, trade shows, and internal events
Bilingualism in French and English would be an asset
