Job Description Our Toronto office seeks an experienced US Immigration Lawyer with excellent communication skills who collaborates and supports clients in the evolving landscape of Canadian business immigration. Responsibilities Develop an expert-level understanding of client base, industries supported, and firm’s practice areas. Assess eligibility of corporate foreign national employees for non‑immigrant and immigrant visa status. Prepare and submit petitions and applications for non‑immigrant and immigrant foreign national employees. Draft letters and legal documents, typically based on established precedents. Conduct research to support client requests and projects. Supervise the work of paralegal staff in record‑keeping and document preparation. Communicate proactively with clients, within SLAs/team protocols, providing a precise and organized response. Collaborate with colleagues to resolve client issues, share information, and support client projects. Support clients in immigration program management and compliance. Use firm technology accurately and in line with team and client protocols, ensuring complete and correct data entry. Participate in team meetings and firmwide activities. Act as a source of advice and training to junior colleagues, sharing immigration knowledge and expertise. Ensure self and team follow documented firm standards and policies to mitigate risk and ensure regulatory, operational and client compliance.
Perform other duties as required. Qualifications Canadian bar lawyer with a minimum of 2 years’ experience and knowledge of US immigration law. Proven ability to build strong working relationships with clients and staff. Responsible for managing a broad caseload in a fast‑paced environment. Ability to identify issues, analyze facts, and determine appropriate case strategy. Comfortable with online research tools and client management systems. Displays professionalism, quality service, and a positive can‑do attitude. Work Arrangement & Perks The position operates on a hybrid model: 2 days at the office and 3 days from home. Compensation: $98,000.00 – $117,000.00 (hybrid schedule). Eligible for RRSP contribution and paid time off plans. All offers and employment contracts are contingent upon successful completion of the firm’s pre‑employment screening process.
