Job Summary The Diagnostic Imaging Technologist I in the Medical Imaging Department performs a variety of diagnostic x-ray procedures. The work involves producing diagnostic images, which are interpreted by physicians and used in medical diagnosis; setting up, processing x-ray images, and positioning patients using standard anatomical positioning techniques; assisting senior technologists and radiologists to perform a variety of procedures; operating and caring for the x-ray equipment and in the production of diagnostic images; recognizing, reporting equipment malfunctions and completing routine preventative maintenance; and performing other related work as required.

you acknowledge an understanding that regular requirements and demands of this job include (but are not limited to):
Constantly lifts, moves objects, repositions, pushes and pulls objects and transports patients to and from testing area, less than 10 lbs. between 10-30 lbs.
Push/pull up to medium forces. Constantly stands and walks for extended periods.
Regularly requires repetitive movements of upper extremities.
A high level of alertness and attentiveness is required when performing x-rays when patients are critically ill, infectious, unstable or compromised in order to obtain accurate images as quickly as possible and ensure the patient's safety.
Job Qualifications Graduation from an approved/accredited program in Medical Radiography Technology is required.
Current and continuing registration with the NL Council of Health Professionals as a Medical Radiation Technologist in Radiological Technology is required.
Demonstrated strong communication skills are required in the day-to-day interaction with patients, co-workers and technologists.
A satisfactory record of work performance is required.
